This is a redesign of the NBA All Star Game of 1988 in Chicago, taking inspiration from the city's team, the Bulls, and its unique art and architecture. The game, which featured players who are now considered some of the greatest in NBA history, saw the Eastern Conference win 138-133, with Michael Jordan winning his first MVP award. The NBA All Star Game allows fans to see their favorite players playing together, regardless of team affiliation. My rebrand aimed to create a sense of celebration and achievement for fans and players alike.
I did research on vintage logos from the NBA and other sports teams in general to create one that reflected the time period but also felt relevant today. Throughout my identity I wanted to think about more of the advertisement of the game spread throughout a variety of media including memorabilia, social media ads, posters and more. I wanted to put a spin on my redesign being one from the past and not the present or future so that it stood out from the rest.

Being that this game is actually from the 1980s and no one had up to date technology, I wanted to include an updated version of what it might look like if they were playing in our era. These might be the advertisements you might see, ads on social media and any digital platform. Along with giving it that vintage feeling, I still wanted to try and include the electric energy of the game itself.
